Alvaro Palacios

The wine has ripe fresh flavors of black cherries, blackberries and plums with coffee accents. Smooth and graceful with a long and fruity finish!

Wine Spectator

Dense, rich and smooth, this polished red offers ripe blackberry, roasted plum, dark chocolate, licorice and tobacco flavors over ripe tannins. So plush and harmonious it's easy to overlook the complexity and concentration. Drink now through 2012.

Score: 92. —Thomas Matthews, November 15, 2005.

Wine Enthusiast

Intense and colorful; one of the most flavorful and sizable versions of Terrasses on record. Flavors of boysenberry, blackberry and plum sizzle, while the layered palate spreads out nicely upon airing. Everything about this Cariñena-dominated wine is solid and precise. A really nice taste of Priorat at a fairly affordable price.

Score: 91. —Michael Schachner, October 01, 2005.

Wine Advocate

A great introduction to Palacios' style, is the 2003 Les Terrasses, a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Carignan, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful wine aged 12 months in primarily French, and some American oak, it is a supple-textured, sexy, seductive, deep ruby/purple-tinged offering exhibiting ripe notes of black cherries, currants, licorice, and minerals. Opulent, round, juicy, and alluring, it will drink well for 4-6 years.

Score: 90. —Robert Parker, June 2005.
