This easy drinking red shows an intensely fruity aroma, jammy and meaty all at the same time. Soft and easy going, it is nevertheless able to complement all cuisines. Perfect with barbecue, tomato based pasta dishes, or even a pizza. Made from 35% Aragones, 35% Trincadeira and 30% Castelão.

A new branded wine from one of the Alentejo’s star producers, this red is ripe, fresh, full of red berry fruits, and a good ripe earthiness from fruit tannins. No sign of wood here, just ripe, rich fruit.

Wine Advocate
The 2007 LOIOS Tinto is a typical Southern Portuguese blend, including Aragonez, Trincadeira and Castelao, fermented in stainless steel tanks. It is light and bright, pointed and focused, with a bit of a gamey overlay that I rather liked, but may not be to everyone’s taste. I do not think it will hold terribly well, but it does have some evident structure. It is a refreshing wine that delivers a lot of value for the money. Drink now-2011.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying.
